“Bihar Institute of Correctional Administration(BICA), Hajipur” is the premier training institute for prison and correctional services’ officers and employees located in Hajipur, Vaishali, Bihar. It has been functioning since November 15, 2017 to provide high level training to concerned officers & employees of Prison & Correctional services. The Institute offers basic, in-service and various short-term training courses besides organizing conferences, workshops and seminars at regional, national and international level. It has been actively involved in imparting training to prison & correctional services officers and also conducting various research activities. Training is conducted for Jail Superintendents, Assistant Prosecution Officers, Probation Officers, LDC of Prison Services, Jail Warder(Male), Jail Warder(Female) and Group –D Employees of Prison Services.

    BICA is a society, registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. Subject to the control and direction of General Council and Executive Council, the Inspector General, Prisons & Correctional Services has the power in respect of appointment, change & removal of members as also in formation of Committees and Sub-Committees, as well as to issue such directions/instructions as may be deemed necessary in proper functioning of the BICA Society.
